Intertek helps clients meet EU Cosmetics Regulation

Paris, France – Intertek, the leading quality solutions provider to industries worldwide, announces an expansion of resources to help clients in the cosmetics industry to meet the requirement of the EU Cosmetics Regulation No 1223/2009 once the regulation comes into force on July 11 2013.
The new Cosmetics Regulation entered into force on Jan. 11, 2010, but many of its provisions were enacted on different deadlines. Completion of the regulation enactment will be on July 11, 2013 and represents a common code of law enforceable in all member states, simplifying the rules and procedures related to the marketing of cosmetic products throughout the EU. Its purpose is to ensure consumers’ health is protected and that they are well informed by monitoring the composition and labeling of products and providing for the assessment of product safety and the prohibition of animal testing.
