Intertek renews contract with The Government of Nigeria for its Standards Organisation of Nigeria Conformity Assessment Programme (SONCAP)

Intertek, a leading Total Quality Assurance provider to industries worldwide, has extended its contract with the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) to continue to manage its Conformity Assessment Programme (SONCAP) for exports to the country.
The programme verifies the conformity of all regulated products entering Nigeria from the respective exporting countries within a range of sectors, including: automotive, chemicals, electricals and electronics, textiles, health and beauty products, machinery, building products and toys. This ensures they comply with the applicable Nigerian technical regulations and quality standards, assuring Nigeria’s citizens of the quality and reliability of imported goods. Intertek has been supporting the programme since 2005.

Exporters to Nigeria are required to provide a SONCAP Certificate for Customs clearance in accordance with Government regulation. This certificate can only be obtained from an SONCAP Accredited Partner such as Intertek.
