Undetected contamination of lubricating oils and fluids can eventually cause damage, machinery failure, and unplanned disruptions to important equipment used in industry, power generation, and transportation.

Intertek's oil condition quality monitoring program helps detect and measure contamination affecting in-service lubricants and fluids. Early oil contamination detection allows our clients to take proactive preventative maintenance actions, before the contamination becomes more serious.

Contamination analysis of used oils and fluids detects contamination at trace levels or lower. Contaminants tested and tracked include trace metals from engine and machinery parts, which provide vital data on equipment wear and degradation. Additional testing, as required, provides test results for moisture, unknown particles, chemicals, and other potentially damaging components found in the oil.
