Raman Analysis of Laminated Food Packaging Film: Understanding Diffusion of an Additive. A whitepaper.
As the sophistication of food packaging systems increase, incorporating combinations of polymer/plastics, paper and foils tailored to a desired design and function, it is becoming increasing important to understand how the food product interacts with the packaging material. This is vital to ensure consumer safety and understanding the performance of the product over the recommended life cycle. In this Intertek whitepaper, Intertek Materials and Packaging Testing Expert, Dr Gary Johnson, discusses how the application of Raman spectroscopy, in conjunction with accelerated aging studies, is well suited to exploring the interaction of a food product with the laminated polymer films of commercial heat seal bags.
Intertek provides expert analytical services for all aspects of packaging including food packaging, ensuring you and your organization effectively comply with regulatory and safety requirements, manage risk, maintain product integrity and quality, and expedite time to market. Intertek's extensive global network of analytical laboratories and our renowned scientists and engineers provide a comprehensive suite of testing services to the chemicals, polymers and materials science industries to help clients to progress product development, resolve problems and achieve regulatory compliance.
