Do you know, every day people die as result of occupational accidents or work-related diseases? As per ILO record, at least 1.9 million people died, and 90 million disability adjusted life years were estimated to be attributable to exposure to 19 major occupational risk factors. Additionally, there’s some 360 million non-fatal occupational accidents each year, which resulting in more than 4 days of absence of work.

Poor workplace safety and health place a substantial economic burden on individuals, employers, and society. Introducing appropriate safe systems of work reduces the likelihood of accidents and leads to safer and healthier sites.

• The foundations of Health and Safety
• Reasons to maintain good standard of Health and Safety
• Safe system of work
• Employers and workers responsibilities
• Contract Management
• Key elements of H & S management system
• How to set objectives and targets
• Formation and agendas of safety committee
• Risk assessment, analysis, and control
• Health and Safety Auditing 

DAY – 2

• Hazards and controls associated with work equipment
• Transport safety
• Hazards and controls associated with working with electricity
• Fire safety
• Hazards and controls associated with manual handling and repetitive movement
• Hazards and controls associated with hazardous substances
• Hazards and control associated with the working environment
• Workplace risk assessment activity

Objective:

• Understanding health and safety basics in the workplace
• Identify the most common risk and hazards, hazard and risk analysis
• Employer / employee health and safety responsibilities
• First step towards progressing to NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety.
