Our network of solid fuel labs and sample preparation facilities utilizes the latest industry scientific methodology and equipment to provide comprehensive metallurgical and thermal coal, biomass and petroleum coke testing.  Proximate analysis, ultimate analysis, mineral ash, trace elements, fusion temperature and size distribution analysis are customized to client specific requirements to ensure cargos are tested to meet their needs. Intertek can provide services for installing and managing on-site laboratories at individual mines, coke plants, and end user facilities reducing financial risks to the customer while providing high quality analysis with reduced turnaround times.  
 
Intertek’s team of qualified marine surveyors and samplers attend shipment loading and discharging, acting on behalf of the buyer or seller, to ensure the correct quantification is determined. Obtaining a representative sample during these processes is critical for laboratory analysis to accurately determine if the shipment meets client’s specifications in order to reduce commercial risk in the trading environment.
