Intertek Establishes a Strategic Partnership with CIMC Modular

Intertek, a leading Total Quality Assurance provider to industries worldwide, is pleased to announce that on 11th December 2017 it entered into a strategic partnership with CIMC Modular Building Systems Holdings Co., Ltd. (“CIMC Modular”). The strategic partnership will see Intertek and CIMC Modular engage in extensive and in-depth co-operation in certification and inspection of modular construction products.
The signing ceremony in Jiangmen City was attended by Mr. Derek Zheng (President of Intertek China), Ms. Liu Xiaokui (Executive Deputy General Manager of CIMC Modular), Mr. Miao Dan (GM Assistant of CIMC Modular), as well as senior management from both parties. In addition to the signing ceremony, Intertek representatives visited CIMC Modular’s Jiangmen manufacturing base.
CIMC Modular is a provider of modular buildings and modular building systems and is a world leader in integrated steel-structure construction. CIMC Modular has applied the concept of integrated building modules to prefabricated construction, and integrated services such as design, manufacturing and transportation. The concept means that 80% to 90% of construction is pre-fabricated in the factory, including the main building structure, water and electricity systems, as well as internal hard and soft decoration.
Intertek has expanded its expertise in building quality assurance solutions with the recent acquisitions of the following North American businesses: Architectural Testing, Inc. (“ATI”), MT Group LLC and Materials Testing Lab, Inc. (“MT”), and Professional Service Industries, Inc. (“PSI”). As a result, Intertek can provide testing and quality assurance services throughout the entire life cycle of construction projects and has brought its technical strengths and experience in this industry to China.
Intertek and CIMC Modular will work together to jointly promote each other’s business development. Intertek will provide CIMC Modular with the following services: identification of and guidance on construction product regulations, decrees and standards in different countries, standard certification, compliance training, material testing, onsite inspection of manufacturing bases, product delivery witness and warranty dispute investigation/maintenance.
